A gentleman from Surrey drove to Coventry to drop off a set of wheels to us, for a full alloy wheel refurbishment. He was the proud owner of a baby blue vw golf convertible, which had a vr6 engine conversion and beautiful leather retrim. The wheels were 2 piece BBS splits rims as seen on the BMW e36 328i sport, yet these were slightly different, supporting some extended Schmidt outer lips. The wheels were tired when they arrived, with tatty black centres where the paint had chipped; the dishes were dull and had a lot of kerb damage to them.
The car was to debut with its new look at the Ultimate Dubs show at Telford International Centre, where it had been shown the previous year. The owner wanted the dishes mirror polished, and the centres of the wheel, stripped of the black paint, and then colour co-ordinated in baby blue to match the body work of the car.
