Alloy Wheel Refurbishment
Refurbishing an alloy wheel takes time and preparation, all wheels must arrive stripped from the vehicle and tyres removed.
We will remove as much dirt and road grime as possible and then chemically clean and or blast the wheels. For multi spoke wheels we will get into all the grooves and ridges and this process can be carried out up to 3 times to ensure a dirt and grime free service.
Next, we remove as much corrosion as possible by machine lathe which removes a fine layer of the alloy metal exposing a new look. On wheels such as split rims that need repairing we are able to cut out the damaged areas and using welding techniques build it back up. The affected area is then diamond turned or polished down to fit the profile of that wheel.
The next process is to coat the wheel, to give the wheel protection against corrosion. There are a million and one ways you can finish a wheel but the basics are as follows:
We can powder coat and bake a wheel to give that real alloy finish and then apply a layer of laquer to protect the wheel against stone chips etc. The powder coat is available in a number of colours and finishes, including pearls and metallics.
